How do you clean your sink?

First of all, thank you for choosing a sink and/or tap from Caressi!

But how can you easily maintain your copper, gold or gun metal sink and/or tap? A copper, gold or gun metal sink and/or tap in the kitchen will stay beautiful if you look after it properly. In this maintenance guide, you will learn how to ensure that the copper, gold and gun metal accessories in your kitchen remain radiant.

Sinks and/or taps in the colours copper, gold and gun metal have a PVD coating. But what does that mean?

A PVD coating or "Physical Vapour Deposition" is a coating that forms a thin, strong top layer on a surface (in this case stainless steel) by depositing metal vapour. With a PVD coating, you can enjoy the look of real copper, gold or gun metal and the properties of stainless steel.

Sinks and/or taps in the colours copper, gold and gun metal are even more beautiful when they are clean and shiny. To keep them looking spotlessly clean and as good as new, we'll give you a few simple tips on how you can easily maintain your sink and/or tap.

Care for your sink and/or tap in the colours copper, gold or gun metal:

Tip 1: Clean regularly. By cleaning the sink and/or tap regularly, you prevent limescale deposits and dirt build-up on and around the sink and/or tap. Wipe down the sink and/or tap at least once a week and also clean the tap thoroughly during kitchen cleaning. Proper care prevents permanent stains and makes cleaning easier.

Tip 2: Use the right cleaning agents. No special cleaning agents are required to clean copper, gold or gunmetal sinks and/or taps. Warm soapy water with a mild detergent will keep your sink and/or tap sparkling clean. Descaling can also be done with a solution of 50 % white wine vinegar and 50 % water. Test this on a small area first.

Tip 3: Use a soft cloth. Prevent scratches or other damage by wiping the sink and/or tap with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use microfibre cloths. Always dry the surface well with a dry, soft cloth.

Tip 4: Avoid these cleaning agents. Although the PVD coating is strong, you should avoid bleach, chlorine, ethylene oxide and other harsh or highly acidic cleaning agents. Use pH-neutral cleaning agents.

Tip 5: Avoid abrasive sponges and cloths. To avoid scratches and other permanent damage, do not use scouring pads, steel wool, microfibres or hard cloths when cleaning the sink and/or tap. Use a soft cloth to keep the surface shiny.

Tip 6: Use a Caressi floor grille for your washbasin. A Caressi floor grille is a stainless steel grille that you can attach to the bottom of the sink. By using a floor grille, the sink base is protected and the sink looks like new for longer. Available in all PVD colours and suitable for (almost) all Caressi sinks.

Last but not least: a sink and/or tap with a PVD colour coating is beautiful, but more susceptible to scratches or damage than a normal stainless steel sink or tap. Handle it with care and use the right care so that you can enjoy your Caressi product for a long time.
